The Office of the President, Records and Archives Management Department, has received 13 new employees in various departments and units of the public institution in Tanzania early this September 2026.
Speaking on September 7, 2026, the Director of Administration and Human Resources of the institution, Ms. Salama Said Mohamed, said some of the 13 employees were newly recruited, while others had transferred from other public institutions.
“Among the 13 employees, some are newly recruited, while others have transferred from other public institutions. They include records officers, office management officers, an economist, procurement officers and information officers,” she said.
Commenting on the new recruitments, Ms. Salama Said Mohamed commended the Government for providing employment opportunities to the young people, who come from different regions of the United Republic of Tanzania.
“Our expectation is that they have come to add strength to our department,” she said.
Speaking about the reception of the new employees, the Head of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit at the Office of the President, Records and Archives Management Department, Dismas Mbando, said all 13 employees had already been integrated into various ICT systems used in carrying out their official duties.
“During this reception, all 13 employees have already been registered in the ICT systems used for work, including government email, the electronic signature system for government documents, the Performance Evaluation Management System (PEPMIS), as well as the e-Office system. We expect to provide them with training on how to effectively use these systems,” he said.
He added that he was confident that the employees, most of whom are young people, would be able to use the systems effectively due to their familiarity with digital technology.
“However, I have confidence in our young people today. Many of them are well acquainted with this technology because they are digital youth, not analogue youth,” he said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the reception ceremony, Prince Eric Kazungu, who has been employed as an economist, said he was delighted to be among public servants.
Kazungu, a native of Arusha City and a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, specialising in Policy and Planning, from Mzumbe University, said he was ready to use his professional knowledge to serve the nation.
“I am happy to be among public servants here. I will work with all my heart to serve my country, Tanzania,” he said.
Commenting on Kazungu’s arrival, the Head of the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, Mr . Edwin Philbert Katundu, said he had welcomed Kazungu into public service and that he had already started carrying out his responsibilities.
“I have welcomed Mr. Kazungu, and I will work well with him. I welcome him to public service, and he has already started working with great enthusiasm,” he said.
According to figures obtained through a small survey conducted at the Office of the President, Records and Archives Management Department, the department is approaching a workforce of 120 employees working across various zones, as well as at its headquarters in Dodoma.
The 13 newly recruited and transferred employees represent approximately 11 percent of the department’s total workforce.
