DO YOU REPRESENT THAT GROUP WELL?

On August 26, 2026, Mwanakwetu met with a group of employees from the Office of the President, Department of Records and Archives. They were very cheerful and enthusiastic. Most members of the group agreed to have their photographs taken, but one of them was hesitant to take a picture.

Mwanakwetu asked her to have her picture taken. While encouraging her, Mwanakwetu said, among other things:

“My sister, when you see me wherever I am, walking around and working wherever I may be, I come from a certain group of Tanzanians. When they see me in a photograph, they say, ‘We have seen our brother on social media.’ They become happy because I belong to a certain group of Tanzanians.

Wherever I am, I represent that group. Therefore, when someone comes to take a picture and I avoid it, my brothers and sisters from Mbagala will lose their representation. In the same way, you also belong to a group that you represent. Represent that group well, and do not refuse to have your picture taken again.”

Indeed, that lady agreed to have her picture taken.
